Why this page exists
This isn't a step counter. The App programs high-risk calisthenics skills such as planche, front lever and handstand work with progressive overload. It asks how things feel, records your pain reports and acts on them: it may suggest lighter work, a step back, a skip, or let you continue. And it has a coach that talks like a coach. All of that can sound like clinical or physio advice. It isn't. This page makes that unmistakable.
1. Not medical advice
The App is a training tool. It doesn't give medical advice, diagnoses or treatment. Nothing in it, not the coach, not the program, not the pain tracking, not the recovery-style suggestions, load reductions, regressions or progressions, replaces advice from a doctor or physiotherapist. The App is not a medical device and isn't meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, injury or condition.
2. The coach is software, not a clinician
The coach builds its suggestions from what you enter and from general training principles. It is not a doctor, a physiotherapist or a qualified coach. It can be wrong. It doesn't know your full medical history and it can't see your form, your environment or how you really feel. Treat what it says as suggestions you're free to ignore, never as a clinical judgment or a prescription. Using the App does not create a doctor-patient, physio-client or coach-client relationship between you and Doctor Yaad or anyone connected to it.
3. Talk to a professional first
See a doctor or a qualified health professional before you start any exercise program and before you change your training in a big way. That matters even more if you:
- have an injury now, had one before, or have any pain;
- have a heart, lung, joint, metabolic or other medical condition;
- are pregnant, recently gave birth, or recently had surgery;
- are coming back after a long break, or are new to training;
- take medication or have any other reason to be careful with exercise.
Calisthenics skill training loads tendons, joints and connective tissue hard, and it builds up to advanced, high-load movements.
4. Stop when something is wrong
Pain, dizziness, faintness, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, numbness, or anything beyond normal training effort: stop right away, and get medical help if you need it. Don't train through pain because the App let you.
After you report pain, the App may offer to reduce, regress or continue a movement. Those are training conveniences, not clearance. A “continue” option is never a medical judgment that continuing is safe for you. That call is yours, ideally together with a professional.
5. Pain tracking is not a diagnosis
The pain and soreness features help you record and manage your training load over time. They don't diagnose injuries, grade how bad they are, or tell you whether something is safe. A low pain score doesn't mean you're not injured, and the App's reaction to a pain report is not a medical assessment. Pain that worries you, that stays, that gets worse, or that follows a sudden injury: see a professional instead of relying on the App.
6. You accept the risk
Exercise carries a real risk of injury, including serious injury. By using the App you confirm that you take part voluntarily and take full responsibility for your own health and safety, and for the consequences of any exercise you choose to do, including the ones the App suggests. You decide whether a movement, load or progression is right for you, and you're the one who has to perform it safely.
7. Emergencies
The App is not for emergencies. If you think you're having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number now. In the Netherlands and the rest of the EU that's 112. Don't open the App and don't wait for the coach.
8. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, Doctor Yaad is not liable for any injury, loss or damage that comes from using the App or relying on its suggestions. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under the applicable law, in particular liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for intent or gross negligence.
